Generally, fabrics have tension when rolled, especially knitted and elastic fabrics. Tension has a significant impact on their dimensional stability. Therefore, before cutting, in order to ensure the stability of the finished garment size, it is necessary to loosen the incoming fabric. Some factories wake up the fabric to prevent the size of the finished garment from exceeding the standard.
(1) The front and back of the fabric.
(2) The directionality of the fabric. Corduroy, velveteen, flannel, etc. need to check the directionality of the fluff, and the direction of the fabric's reversed hair should be consistent.
(3) The fabric surface should be flat. Wrinkles and twisting are not allowed. A small cut can be made along the edge of the fabric at regular intervals to improve the flatness of the fabric surface and enhance cutting accuracy.
(4) Align the fabric edges to prevent uneven fabric edges from causing incomplete pieces of clothing with fabric edges. Usually, one side of the fabric should be aligned as the reference (inner opening), and the inner opening must be neat.
(5) Fabric splicing: When laying materials, if a batch of fabric cannot be fully layered at the end, the splicing length should be determined based on the length of the paper pattern in the layout plan.
(6) After completing the paving, place a ruler vertically on the straight edge of the paving cloth pile to check if the paving is skewed, at least three places should be checked.
(7) Counting: When cutting, check whether the number of layers of the fabric is correct.
