The effect of softener

1, supplement natural fiber in refining, bleaching and other processes lost natural oil, so that the feel is more ideal.

2, attached to natural fibers or synthetic fibers, improve smoothness and strength, improve feel.

3, through the softener has some characteristics, improve the wear performance of the fabric.

In order to achieve the above functions, the softener is generally a substance with the smoothness and feel of grease, which can reduce the friction resistance between the fibers and make the fibers lubricating and soft. Some softeners can crosslink with some reaction groups on the fiber to achieve the purpose of washable.

According to their ionic properties, softeners can be divided into anionic, cationic, non-ionic and amphoteric types

In addition to soap, sulfonated oil, etc., the main components of anionic softener are cationic compounds or anionic and non-ionic compounds with long chain alkane such as sodium stearyl succinate and stearyl sulfate. Generally has goIf you want to know more about dyeing solutions, please contact:  info@sylicglobal.comod wettability and thermal stability, can be used with fluorescent whitening agent in the same bath, can be used as a softener of extra white fabric. It is also more suitable for cellulose fibers, which can give fabrics better water absorption, but its adsorption of fibers is similar to direct dyes, which is weak, so the soft effect is poor, and it is easy to be washed away. In addition, because it has a softening effect in the bath, it can be used for silk scouring to prevent bruising (ash).

Non-ionic softeners are generally polyoxyethylene esters (or ethers) of decanoic acid (or alcohol), pentaerythritol or fatty esters of sorbitol. Non-ionic softener can only play a smoothing role because of its poor adhesion to fibers compared with ionic softener. However, it can be used with ionic softener, has good compatibility with other, good stability to electrolyte, and has no defects of yellowing of fabric, and can be used as a non-durable soft finishing agent, and can also be an important part of synthetic fiber spinning oil.

The cationic softener is easy to adsorb on the surface of the fiber, has strong binding ability, high temperature resistance, washing resistance, and the finished fabric is full and smooth, can improve the wear resistance and tear strength of the fabric, and has a certain antistatic effect on synthetic fiber. Therefore, it is widely used in cotton, nylon, acrylic and other fabrics, and this variety is also suitable for silk. However, some cationic softeners are easy to cause yellowing at high temperature, accompanied by a decline in color fastness to light.

Amphoteric softener is a kind of softener developed to improve cationic softener. It has a strong affinity for synthetic fibers and no yellowing and discoloration of dyes. It can also be used for silk retraining process to make silk feel better. Amphoteric softeners can also be used together with cationic softeners to play a synergistic role.
