In the first three quarters of this year, China's textile and garment exports basically showed a stable and positive situation. Since the beginning of this year, China's textile and garment exports have gradually expanded in each quarter. By the end of the third quarter, the cumulative export stopped the declining trend, and was basically flat.
China textile exports totaled 81.15 billion US dollars in the first nine months of this year, up 2.4% from the same period last year, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles was informed on September 14. Garment exports were $118.63 billion, down 1.8% from a year earlier. Among them, the export volume of yarn and fabric of key export commodities increased by 4.8% and 8% respectively. Total exports of needle-woven garments increased 2.9 per cent year on year. In particular, China's textile exports grew by 37.8% year-on-year in September, showing a recovery growth.
In the first three quarters of this year, the 10 provinces and regions in eastern China accounted for 86.5% of the country's total textile and garment exports, with a year-on-year growth of 0.7%. This is driving the overall export, with jiangsu, Hebei and Beijing growing faster.
