The basic components of silicone softeners are various linear polysiloxanes. Their molecular weights are not very high, and they are in a fluid state at room temperature, so they are usually called silicone oil. Polydimethylsiloxane (DMPS) is also called methyl silicone oil. When some methyl groups in methyl silicone oil are replaced by various carbon functional groups, it is also called modified silicone oil. Modified silicone oils can be divided into reactive modified silicone oils and non-reactive modified silicone oils according to the nature of the substituents.
(1) Pretreatment effect of fabric:
①The oil stain on the chemical fiber surface is not cleanly removed, the water repellency is serious, and the softener cannot be adsorbed to the fiber surface.
②The cotton fiber pulp and wax are not removed cleanly, and the wool effect is not high or false wool effect; a large amount of silicate is deposited on the surface of cotton fiber.
(2) The dipping method has limitations and advantages:
① The processing time is long, and the auxiliary agent has the opportunity to reach the inner space of the fiber;
② Relying on positive and negative charge adsorption, the surface adsorption is uniform.
(3) The padding method has limitations and advantages:
①The contact time between the fabric and the auxiliaries is short, and the internal penetration is difficult, insufficient and uneven;
②In addition to positive and negative charge adsorption, there is also physical filtration adsorption, and the adsorption capacity of auxiliary agents is large.
(4) Special processing technology:
①The effect of alkali reduction of polyester fabrics is remarkable; ②calendering process; ③pre-shrinking process;
