According to data from China Customs Express, from January to August 2020, my country's textile and apparel exports were US$187.41 billion, an increase of 8.11% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 2.55 percentage points higher than that from January to July. Among them, textile exports were US$104.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 33.4%, and clothing exports totaled US$82.61 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 12.9%, and the rate of decline narrowed by 3.7 percentage points from January to July. Data show that in August, under the continuous promotion of anti-epidemic textiles such as masks, my country's textile exports were US$14.72 billion, a year-on-year increase of 46.96%; it was the first time that the monthly positive growth resumed after 7 months of negative growth during the year.
Previous data released by the customs showed that with the effective prevention and control of the domestic corona epidemic and the gradual recovery of the domestic demand market, the decline in major economic indicators such as production, sales, and efficiency of my country's clothing industry has further narrowed. From January to July 2020, the textile operating income was 700.592 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 15.01%, and the rate of decline was narrower than the first half of the year. 1.38 percentage points; total profit was 29.497 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 26.28%, and the rate of decline narrowed by 1.06 percentage points from the first half of the year.
