Sylic Textile Auxiliaries FAQ

  • Q What is dispersing agent give example?

A For example, soap powder, turkey red oil, alkali sulphates, alkyl aryl sulphonates etc. Are some surface active agents which are recommended as dispersing agents in disperse dyeing. Functions of dispersing agents: it assists in the process of particle size reduction of dye.
  • Q What are the agents of dispersion?

A The agents of dispersal of seeds are wind, water, animals, gravity and explosion.
  • Q What is levelness in dyeing?

A Noun The process of dyeing evenly where, from the great affinity between the goods and the dye, the portion first dyed would absorb too much coloring matter.
  • Q What is leveling agent in paint?

    A
Leveling agents/flow modifiers are added to coating formulations to reduce the surface tension of the coating and interfacial tension between coating and substrate thus delivering superior surface qualities and optimal coating finish. They also help to optimize the viscosity during film formation process.

  • Q How can level dyeing be achieved?

A Level dyeing is achieved by i) controlled exhaustion of the dye so that it is taken up evenly and ii) migration of dye after initially unlevel sorption on the fiber. In some cases level dyeing can be influenced by dye-bath pH and/or presence of electrolytes.
  • Q What chemicals are used in textile dyeing?

    A
List of Chemicals Used in Textile Dyeing Industry
Basic chemicals: Soda ash, Hydrochloric, ...
Washing agent or soaping agent: Serafast-CRD, ...
Detergent and scouring agent: Jintex-GD, ...
    Leveling agent: Levelex-P, ...
    Salt: Common Salt, ...
    Sequestering agent: Resotext 600S, ...
    Whitening agent: Uvitex2B, ...
    Fixing agent: Sandofix EC,

  • Q Which chemical is used as a Levelling agent for acid dyes?

    A
    Fatty alcohol Sulphates :
The product is chemically identical to commercial product (Gardinal WA). It can be used as leveling agent for dyeing nylon with acid dyes.
  • Q What are the ingredients of fixing agent?

A Fixing agent: sodium/ammonium thiosulfate, dissolves unexposed silver. Hardener: potassium alum, to harden the gelatin emulsion in film. Acidifier: sulfuric/acetic acid, to remove any residual alkalinity from previous developing.
  • Q What is the most popular fixing agent?

A Formaldehyde (10% neutral buffered formalin) is by far the most popular fixative used in histology since it penetrates the tissue well and creates crosslinks without affecting the sample tissue's antigenicity. While it is relatively slow to fix, it is highly recommended for immunohistochemical techniques.
  • Q What is the agent used for fixing dyes?

A Formaldehyde is used in the textile industry for dyeing, as dye fixing agents and for achieving flame retardance properties.
