Curtain wall project sealant how to accurately calculate the amount?

With the rapid development of urban construction in China, a large number of buildings using decorative curtain wall have emerged. Silicone sealant used in construction as the main bonding material of curtain wall engineering has been widely used. So, how to calculate the amount of building sealant in the application of the project? This article will introduce the calculation method of the amount of building sealant in the project.


First, estimate the amount of glue


1. Calculation of structural sealant consumption of hidden frame glass curtain wall


Assume that the size of structural sealant of hidden frame glass curtain wall is 12mm*8mm. For each plate of hidden frame glass curtain wall, the length of four sides should be calculated when calculating the amount of structural sealant (as shown in Figure 1).


For a single component sealant, the utilization rate is estimated by 85%, then a 300ml(300cm3) sealant can be injected into the length of the sealant: 300cm3*85%÷1.2cm÷0.8cm=266cm= 2.66m. The total length of 4 sides of each plate ÷ the length of each sealant, calculate the structural sealant needed for each plate, multiplied by the number of plates, you can calculate the total amount of glue.


For two-component sealant, the utilization rate is estimated by 90%, then A group of 180L(A component)+19L(B component) sealant can be injected into the length of :(180+19)*1000 cm3*90%÷1.2cm÷0.8cm=186563cm=1865.63 meters. Each group of sealant playing meters ÷ each plate 4 sides of the total length, calculate each group of sealant can play plate number, the total plate number divided by each group of sealant can play plate number, you can calculate the total amount of glue. Hollow glass two sealant dosage calculation can refer to this method.


For the calculation of structural sealant dosage of semi-hidden frame glass curtain wall, each plate only calculates the corresponding length of two glue injection sides, and the rest is the same as the above method.


2. Calculation of the amount of weatherproof sealant


Assume that the size of weather sealant is 16mm*8mm, for hidden frame glass curtain wall, aluminum veneer curtain wall or stone curtain wall, weather sealant is applied between the adjacent plates, in order to avoid double calculation, weather sealant amount is usually calculated only two side length (length and width).


The utilization rate of single component sealant is estimated by 85%, then a 300ml(300cm3) sealant can be injected into the length of the sealant: 300cm3*85%÷1.6cm÷0.8cm=199cm=1.99 meters. According to the injection length of each plate (length + width, as shown in Figure 2), it can be calculated how many pieces of sealant are needed for each plate. Then multiplied by the number of plates, you can calculate the total amount of glue.


In the application of assembly building, because a single plate is relatively large and the regularity is not strong, it is generally calculated according to the total length of the building sealant joints. That is, according to the above method to calculate the length of each sealant can be applied, and then divide the total length of the sealant by the length of each sealant can be applied, and the total amount of glue can be calculated.


The calculation of weatherproof sealant of open-frame glass curtain wall is slightly different from the above curtain wall. Because the open frame curtain wall sealant is injected in the right Angle between the glass and aluminum frame glue seam. The four edges of each glass plate need to be filled with sealant (as shown in Figure 3). So a sealant can play how many meters of glue seam? Assuming that the cross-section of weatherproof sealant is a trapezoid with a long side of 7mm, a short side of 5mm and a thickness of 6mm, the utilization rate of a single component sealant is estimated by 85%, then a 300ml(300cm3) sealant can be injected with the length of: 300 cm3 * 85% present [(0.7 + 0.5) cm * 0.6 cm present 2] = 708 cm = 7.08 m. The total length of 4 sides of each plate ÷ the length of each sealant, calculate the sealant needed for each plate, multiplied by the number of plates, you can calculate the total amount of glue. The calculation of the amount of sealant used for doors and Windows can refer to this method. The difference is that the cross-section of sealant used for doors and Windows is often triangular. It is worth noting that if glue is injected inside and outside the plate, the amount of glue needs to be calculated inside and outside the plate.
